A fantastic hotel surrounded by beautiful countryside. Perfect for many occassions, weddings, golf, weekend getaway etc
Whilst Shrigley Hall is in a Picturesque location I would not recommend a visit. The hotel facilities are very ordinary for a 4* but the most negative thing was the expense; £3.50 for a small coffee, £3.50 for orange juice, £4.50 for a bottle of beer. You might like it if you're a rich, golfer
The hotel is stunning and every effort was made to make our stay pleasurable, from the room to the spa. Would definately recommend this hotel for a quiet getaway.
No complaints. Some reviews state that the room was too far away from the reception, ours wasn't. However if you stay at a hotel with so many rooms then it is sometimes to be expected. Perhaps these people should consider a small b&b.
Location is very peaceful. Rooms were good. Reception staff friendly.
Arrogant restaurant manager who tried to overcharge (this was corrected by reception)
The hotel had a lovely setting and the reception was very inviting. The breakfast was very nice.
At breakfast could maybe use pot of coffee instead of trying to get the attention of staff to refill whilst eating your breakfast.
We came for a wedding so unfortunetly didnt have time to do anything apart from enjoy the day and evening , which was exelent.
No, there was nothing wrong at all.
I was extremely disappointed with the standard of the room considering the amount paid. We were with a wedding party and had been allocated a shoebox of a room. The bed was so close to the door that every noise could be heard as people walked past in the corridor, to the extent that I was woken at 7am by guests walking past and was unable to sleep. I was disgusted that I was allocated such a terrible room, despite booking well in advance.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was prepared early for us, before our check in time.
The tea-making facilities weren't that easy to acces. The room was far away from the reception and wedding location and difficult to find
Spa and pool, great restaurant.
Location and stunning views. I did enjoy my treatments at the spa and my husband enjoyed the golf course
It did not feel like a 4 star hotel even though it is a beautiful building. This is due to the little touches that were missing. No table cloths on the dinner table when we ate in the restaurant with friends. Staff were chatting to each other and not attentive to their customers and were starting to put out all the breakfast facilities while guests were still eating dinner. The toiletries were minimal in comparison to most 4 star hotels so didn't have that welcome feel in the bathroom at all. Our room was on the side of the house and was comfortable but I am not sure it was really worth the £154 I had paid for it.
It has a very nice location and the central building is beautiful. We got really good value for money on our stay there and had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Excellent range of food on offer for breakfast buffet.
It was a touch noisy with doors banging a lot but that's not really their fault.
There for a wedding, good venue, setting and atmosphere.
The bar prices, just come back off a cruise with the royal caribbean company supposed to be the dearest bar prices on earth. You out did them!
It was a beautiful location and some of the features within the hotel are very impressive. Most of the staff were friendly, polite and engaging. The beds were comfortable and the rooms had all that one would expect in a hotel of this calibre. I was attending a wedding and it was creditable how clearly the hotel had covered all of the requirements as part of the package for the couple.
The hotel is not very accessible for people with restricted mobility as the car park is a significant distance from the reception area and the bedrooms cover a large area over 'three' floors. Whilst there are lifts, they dont all provide access to all of the floors, with a significant walk between them, which includes many stairs on one of the levels. My booking requirements had not been received correctly but, although not impolite, one of the desk staff seemed less than eager to remedy the issue. I felt like I was asking for something unreasonable and, whilst she did deal with my request, I felt her pr skills needed a bit of work (her colleague the following day couldn't have been more helpful). The choices for the self service breakfast were excellent but the cooked items needed to be hotter.
Ambience was very pleasant
It was very big so it involved a lot of walking to get to the rooms with lots of small flightsof stairs involved!
Friendly staff, lovely food, comfy beds.
Pillows were useless, rooms are small for money, very confusing layout especially when you are trying to get ready for a wedding and having to run around!!!
